Victoria 2021 5 day lockdown and dental care for emergencies

On Friday February 12 2021, Victoria announced a “circuit creaker” 5 day lockdown. This is planned to end midnight Wednesday February 17th 2021.

During this time, routine dental checkups are not permitted.

Emergency and urgent dental care is available, however is restricted to the following;

Procedures and surgical treatment undertaken by dentists in the management of:
i. patients with obvious facial swelling due to infection i.e. vestibular swelling (no trismus), facial swelling (with trismus); or
ii. facial trauma; or
iii. severe unrelenting pain.

We are able to perform consultations to assess whether you suit the criteria for dental treatment during lockdown. However, in some cases we may only be able to perform intermediate (temporary) work during lockdown, and reschedule you for further dental treatment once lockdown ends.
